Chaos Hockey
Est. 2007

The newest team to hit the ice in the Twin Cities is none other than "Chaos" – a group of twenty- and thirty-somethings (some even older although they don’t want to admit it) learning to play hockey for the first time.

Starting out as the AHA Beginner League “Green Team,” the team adopted the "Chaos" moniker and the color scheme via a list of suggestions and a team vote. The team adopted its team colors of navy blue and green, paying homage to the now defunct Hartford Whalers, formerly of the NHL.

Chaos is part of the Adult Hockey Association – a Twin Cities based amateur adult hockey association aimed at providing instruction to adults who want to learn to play “the Coolest Game on Ice” while fostering a fun and safe environment for its participants as they sharpen their skills and hopefully their skates.

The Chaos Mission:

To continue to develop as a recreational hockey team and as individual players.
To continually strive to become as competitive a team as we possibly can, while keeping team(s) intact and retaining current players within the organization.
To display Respect, Integrity, and Humility to the game, teammates, competitors, and the league while still enjoying the recreational hockey experience.

Winter 2007-2008
11/29/2007 - AHA Beginner School "Green Team" is formed, and participates in first instructional session.
12/20/2007 - "Chaos Hockey" is born, as the AHA Beginner School "Green Team" selects team name and colors.
12/27/2007 - Matt Webb is elected Chaos hockey's first captain, and Mike Korstad and Doug Winjum earn alternate captain status.
2/7/2008 - Choas plays, and wins their inaugural league game, 5-2 over the "Ice Dogs." Roster on the night: Aaron Swann (out), Adam Ettl, Andrew Mushett, Bob Butwinick, Brad Smith, Connie Leigh, Dan Milis, Don Donaldson, Doug Winjum, Matt Clark, Matt Webb, Mike Booth, Mike Korstad, Rich Benson, Rich Zurich (out), Richard Huffman, Sarah Thuriot (out), Travis Beckerle. 2/7/2008 - Bob Butwinick scores the inaugural league goal in Chaos history, at 4:21 in the first period win over the Ice Dogs.
2/7/2008 - Connie Leigh collects the first penalty in Chaos team history, a tripping call at 13:16 of the first period, in the inaugural game vs. Ice Dogs.
3/20/2008 - Chaos finishes the Beginner School regular season with a 5-2 record, and no season series defeats.
3/26/2008 - Matt Webb notches the first hat trick in team history, in a 3-2 win over the Ice Dogs and advancing to the Finals.
3/26/2008 - Chaos posts their first post-season victory in team history, winning 3-2 over the Ice Dogs, in the Beginner League semi-finals
4/3/2008 - Chaos wins the 2007-2008 AHA Beginner League title game, 7-5, over the Vipers.

Summer 2008
05/28/2008 - Chaos forms Summer Team with Wildcats and "Blowfiish" are born. Roster includes Mike Korstad, Aaron Swann, Matt Webb, Connie Leigh, Matt Clark, Andrew Mushett, Jason Przybilla, Adam Coolong, Adam Ettl, Lil McDonald, Mark Frommelt, Scott Simpson, KC Ahrens, Beth Huebesch, Brad Nordin, Barry Weiner, and Tim Baird (Goalie)
08/15/2008 - Team Blowfish finish Summer Session in second place behind Blue Gills (formerly BearCats, now Wingmen)
08/25/2008 - Team Blowfish make Summer Level 5 Playoff Championship Game and lose 5-2 to Blue Gills

10/25/2008 - Chaos wins it's first D2 Level Game 5-2 Against the PuckHounds. #77 Mike Korstad scores the first two goals of the D2 season and goes on for a Hat Trick in the Game.
11/16/2008 - Team Chaos Records first ever Shutout 3-0 over the Fighting Loons. Goalie #58, Charlie Beattie saves 27 of 27.
11/29/2008 - #26 Jay Westerlund records third hat trick in team history in a 6-1 victory over the Vipers.
03/02/2009 - Chaos is the first D2 Team to Clinch a post season playoff spot
03/07/2009 - #44 Mike "Trashman" Booth records fourth hat trick in team history in a 4-1 victory over the Maroons.
03/14/2009 - Chaos clinches the D2 REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP and enters Playoffs as #1 Seed.
04/02/2009 - Chaos goes 3-0 in Playoff Round Robin Play by defeating Knights 4-1, Marooons 5-2, and Wildcats 2-0. Chaos advances to the D2 Championship Game.
04/05/2009 - Chaos Defeats the Knights 3-2 and is crowned PLAYOFF D2 CHAMPIONS..

Fall 2009
07/21/2009 - Team Chaos registers for AHA Fall Tournament to be held at BIG Sept 18-20 with the exact roster from the 08-09 Championship Squad.
08/20/2009 - Team Chaos goes 1-2 in the AHA Fall Tournament at Level 4 (D1) and finishes 3rd in the Tournament losing to eventual Champs Nighthawks 1-2, losing to Diablos D1 0-3, and beating Lakers D1 3-1.

Summer 2009
06/01/2009 - Team Chaos sends skaters to three Summer Teams in AHA Levels 3, 4, and 5. 08/17/2009 - Level 3 Team Slugs finishes third and enters the Summer Playoffs as #3 Seed with a record of 7-5-0. (W-L-T).

Winter 2009-2010
08/17/2009 - Team Chaos Splits to create two Winter Teams for the 09/10 Winter Season including Chaos D2 and Chaos D1. Chaos D1 team adopts new colors of Boston Bruins.

10/24/2009 - Chaos D1 Team wins it's first D1 Game against Returning D1 Champion Spiders 4-1. New recruit #16 Rob Whiteford scores the first Goal of the D1 Season.
10/25/2009 - Chaos D2 Team ties it's first D2 Game against the Northern Horde 2-2. #23 Bob Butwinick scores the first Goal of the D2 Season.
11/08/2009 - #26 Jay Westerlund records the fourth hat trick in team history and his second in a 5-2 victory over the Lakers D1.
04/01/2010 - Chaos D1 ends season with a 18-2-0 record, best in the AHA and enters playoffs as #1 Seed.
04/01/2010 - Chaos D2 ends season with a 11-6-3 record and enters playoffs as #6 Seed.
04/11/2010 - Chaos D1 goes 4-0-1 in 2010 Winter Playoffs and wins 2010 AHA D1 Tier with a 3-2 victory over the Diablos in the Championship Game.
04/11/2010 - Chaos D2 goes 1-1-1 in 2010 Winter Playoffs as the #6 seed and finishes 3rd in the tournament, just 1 point away from making the Championship Game.

Spring 2010
04/27/2010 - Members from Chaos, Yellow Jackets and C2 Diablos form team for Hockey of the Heart Tournament and win the Hockey for the Heart tournament, which benefits the Rasmussen Center for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. Chaos beats the C2 Beavers, C2 AK Bars, the Purple Team and beats the Beavers in the Title Game 2-0.

Summer 2010
06/01/2009 - Team Chaos has two main Summer Teams, the Level 4 Motely Crew and Level 3 Eurythmics.
06/01/2009 - Level 4 is captained by Aaron Swann and combines D1 Chaos Skaters with D1 Wingmen Skaters such as Dwane Mann, John McCay, Jerome Hinton as well as soon to be new Chaos D1 skaters Ryan Corder, Justin Revenaugh, Shawn Neugebauer, Dave Sommerness, George Farner and Goalie Casey Johnson.
06/01/2009 - Level 3 is captained by Matt Webb and combines future C2 Chaos Skaters along with former C2 Diablos skaters such as Tim Wagenman, Corey Demars, Doug Wiplinger and Jeff Kehr. Other skaters include former Montreal Maroons skater Brent Tilley, former C2 Royals skater David Brekke and future to be C2 Chaos Skater Andrew Benson. Future Chaos C2 to be skater Many of the non Chaos skaters go on to form the 2010-2011 C2 Team, M's, who go on to eventually win the C2 Tier title in 2011.

Fall 2010
08/21/2010 - Team Chaos registers for AHA Fall Tournament to be held at BIG Sept 17-19 with most of the roster from the 09-10 Championship Squad with additions of Ryan Corder, Justin Revenaugh and Travis Beckerle.
09/19/2010 - Team Chaos goes 3-0-1 in the AHA Fall Tournament at Level 4 (D1) and captures the Tournament title beating the Ice Dogs 3-2 in the Championship Game. Other games include wins against the PuckHounds, Nighthawks and a tie against the Spiders.

Winter 2010-2011 08/17/2010 - Team Chaos Splits once again, now to create three Winter Teams for the 10/11 Winter Season including Chaos D2, Chaos D1 and Chaos C2. Chaos D2 remains with the Hartford Whalers Colors and the D1 and C2 teams sport the Boston Bruins Colors.

10/24/2010 - Chaos D2 Wins it's first game 4-3 over the Silverbacks, Chaos D1 loses in Overtime against the Spiders and Chaos C2 wins it's first ever game at C2 against the Sharks.
03/7/2011 - Chaos D2 qualifies for the 2011 Winter Season Playoffs as the #2 Seed with a record of 15-3-2 and 32 points.
03/19/2011 - Chaos D1 qualifies for the 2011 Winter Season Playoffs as the #4 Seed with a record of 8-7-5 and 21 points.
03/19/2011 - Chaos C2 barely misses the 2011 Winter Season Playoffs and finishes 5th in the C2 East Division with a record of 9-10-1 and 19 points.
04/10/2011 - Chaos D2 goes 1-0-2 for 4 points in D2 Winter Playoffs and finishes 3rd again missing the title game by 1 point.
04/10/2011 - Chaos D1 goes 0-3 and finishes the tournament in 11th out of 12th place, but was happy to be there.

Winter 2011-2012
09/01/2011 - Chaos will field at least a D1 and C2 team for Winter 2011-2012. Captains and Roster to be announce soon. The D2 team is currently weighing their options at the level.
